Introduction
This web app is owned by Crionet and is licensed to third parties, with or without additional modifications. Accessibility of the current version may vary depending on adaptations made by licensees.
Crionet is committed to ensuring a level of accessibility that conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA standards for the original version of the web app. However, any customizations made by third parties may affect overall compliance. Crionet is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including those with disabilities. We are constantly working to improve the usability and accessibility of our website and strive to comply with relevant guidelines.
Compliance level
Not compliant
This web app is currently not in compliance with the requirements of Appendix A of UNI CEI EN 301549 and the WCAG 2.2 guidelines at level AA, due to the presence of several accessibility barriers.
Specifically, some key areas of the platform are not usable with screen readers, and certain functionalities are inaccessible to users relying solely on keyboard navigation or assistive technologies. These issues significantly impact the ability of people with disabilities to interact with the system.
We are actively working on a remediation plan to address these critical issues. Our goal is to bring the platform to at least partially compliant state, and then progressively improve towards full compliance with WCAG 2.2 level AA.
Non-accessible content
Some areas of the platform are not yet complied with accessibility requirements. The following critical issues have been identified based on an evaluation aligned with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, specifically Level A and AA success criteria:
- Missing alternative texts for images - 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A)
- Form fields without associated labels, or with labels that are not correctly linked (orphan labels) - 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A), 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A), 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA), 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A)
- Missing page regions (landmarks) for navigation - 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A), 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (Level A)

- Incorrect heading structure (e.g., skipping heading levels, inconsistent hierarchy) - 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A), 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (Level A), 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA)
- Text size is too small, affecting readability
- Empty buttons or links without discernible text - 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A), 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (Level A)
- Insufficient color contrast between text and background - 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum) (Level AA)
- Redundant links with identical purposes or destinations, which can confuse screen reader users - 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (Level A)

- Complex or untagged tables that are not accessible or readable in a meaningful order - 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A), 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence (Level A)

- Form fields missing a label but using a title attribute instead, which is not accessible enough - 1.1.1 Non-text Content (Level A), 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A), 2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA), 3.3.2 Labels or Instructions (Level A)

What we have done and what we are doing
Automated testing
We have taken some measures to ensure that this web app will be more accessible, including:
-
Automated testing with various tools, such as:
- Axe Accessibility Checker (for detailed WCAG 2.1 analysis);
- WAVE Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (for verifying navigation and structural issues);
- Google Lighthouse (for overall accessibility scoring);
- Internal tool (AXI).
- Integration of a proprietary tool called AXI to help users with visual or cognitive disabilities set various options such as font enlargement, black and white display, and so on.
We have developed an Accessibility Remediation Plan to achieve at least partial compliance with the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. We are committed to reaching this goal within the upcoming year. You can download and review the full Padel UNO Accessibility Remediation Plan using the following link.
Download Accessibility Remediation Plan (PDF)Subjective testing and human review
In addition to automated tests, we perform a human review with accessibility and UX experts to identify issues that automated testing might miss, such as:
- User experience with assistive technologies, including screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and alternative navigation software;
- Readability and usability evaluation for users with cognitive disabilities;
- Practical testing on mobile devices, to verify compatibility with different screen sizes, including foldable phones and tablets.
Testing with real users
Whenever possible, we involve real users in the testing process to gather direct feedback on the platform's usability and improve critical aspects.
While Crionet ensures the accessibility remediation of the core platform, we are not responsible for additional content or code changes made by third-party licensees, who are encouraged to follow the same accessibility guidelines.
